Hand Painted Art Nouveau Vase on Pedestal
This next piece is really something special. When I think of
the Art Nouveau movement, I mostly think of France, but rarely Italy, which is
where this piece comes from. The extreme relief used in the piece on the
flowers and leaves are really what makes it stand out to me. The work has been
attributed to the Mollica Factory in St. Luca Italy circa 1842. Can you imagine
the impact this piece would have sitting in the corner of a room? In two
pieces, one could use the vase on a mantle and the pedestal as a plant stand,
however I would recommend keeping the pieces together as they were originally
intended to be.
